Atchley et al. (2016) — Event-related potential correlates of mindfulness meditation competence
This study examines how mindfulness meditation competence is reflected in ERP components, comparing experienced meditators with novices. The findings suggest that sustained meditation practice reshapes early attentional processing, with experienced practitioners showing distinct neural signatures in response to distracting stimuli. The work provides electrophysiological evidence for the cognitive benefits of long-term meditation practice.
